As a professional gardener by day, Summer draws inspiration from the rhythmic seasons of the natural world, alongside an ever-evolving exploration of what it means to be alive. Her songs are honest and earthen… born somewhere between the overwhelming smallness we might feel under the clear sky of a moonless desert night and the scent of fresh, fertile soil between fingers in the spring.

During the summer of 2017- when a spontaneous road trip turned into a multi-month escapade- Summer and two college best friends found a musical spark while traveling together out of a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 van. This van, comedically named “Whitney, the White Whale”, carried them all around the American Southwest & Pacific Coast, opening the door of possibility as young, untethered artists. The three eventually birthed an experimental hip-hop collective, which eventually encouraged Summer to begin performing, and touring as a musician.

In 2019, she parted ways with the group to pursue solo endeavors and eventually landed in Brooklyn, New York, where she recorded her debut album Mind Garden, under the name Summer Alicia, with the help of friend and producer Cameron Rood in 2020.

As the wild and untamed soul that she is, Summer didn't last very long in the big city and has since found solace in a small log cabin, on an island in the Salish Sea. Most days of her days are spent tending the earth and dancing in the living room.

She is currently writing and recording her second album on Orcas Island, which is expected to arrive later this year.
